Zoeys windy day at the park

After I came home from the Great Cloth Diaper Change, my daughter Zoey wanted to play at the park around the corner from my house. So we went for a few minutes (it was pretty windy and my allergies hate the wind but, who could say no to a cute face like hers) and I decided to take my camera along with us.

Here are some of her at the park.

GCDC photo booth!

Yesterday was the Great Cloth Diaper Change and I got to do a photo booth at the one held in my community. It was a lot of fun seeing all those cute little ones in their adorable cloth diapers.

I wanted to share some of the photos I took at the booth.

The Great Cloth Diaper Change event

This weekend I will be at the Great Cloth Diaper Change of Ventura County. The GCDC is an annual event where parents around the world attempt to break the Guiness world record for most cloth diapers changed at one time.

I, along with other local vendors, will be there. There will be door prizes, raffles, and a photo booth. And there will even be a mini diaper change for little ones to participate in with their dolls.

For more info on the event click the link below.

Will you be there this weekend?

Spring is in the Air!

The weather is warmer, the flowers are blooming & the birds are chirping. That means…

…It’s time for Spring Mini Sessions!

Mini Sessions make great gifts and with Mother’s Day coming up, it’s the perfect time for them.

DIY banner prop | Ventura County Photographer

I love browsing through Pinterest and finding new ways to make my own props for photo sessions. It’s super fun getting all crafty.

My latest crafty creation is a paper banner I made for all of about 5 bucks. You might even have all these things at home already.

What you need:
▪A ruler
▪A pencil
▪Sheets of scrapbooking paper or construction paper
▪A hole puncher
▪And twine
▪a Manila folder or something similar

(Sorry for the following cell phone pics. My camera was charging when I did this little project)

Step one: make a template for easier measuring. I used a Manila folder and cut out the shape and size I wanted.

Step two: use that template to draw that shape onto your scrapbooking paper and then cut them out. During this step you can also punch holes in them after cutting where you want then to hang from.

Step three: use your twine to thread them on in whatever order to like.

And you are done! It’s too simple not to do this. Even if you aren’t a photographer you could use this for party decorations.

Comment below if you tried this. I’d like to see your crafty creations.

New Year Resolution Fail!

Sooo…. If you read my last post you will know I had planned to do a weekly post of my favorite images I had taken that week. You will also notice I haven’t done so (wah-wah-wah). I have taken my camera out more, which is great. But realized, being a mom to a toddler, I would fail to upload them by weeks end. So, without further ado, here are a few of my favorites from the last couple of months. (maybe i should shoot for a monthly post rather than weekly?)

Updates! | Ventura County Photographer

Hello all!

So I am currently working on updating my website, which I am finding to be slightly confusing. Haha! I’m not very tech savvy with that sort of thing. Photoshop, I know like the back of my hand. Internet stuff, not so much. I think I may have watched every Youtube video known to man about working with WordPress. My eyes hurt now.

Once I get the new website to where I want it, this one will go to website heaven. I am trying to make it somewhat similar but with most changes to the gallery page. So, look out for that 🙂 I will also try to repost the blogs I have done here onto the new one.

In the meantime, enjoy the new posts I will be having in the New Year. I decided to do a weekly photo project where post of my favorite moments. It will force me to take my camera everywhere and use it more in my everyday life. You can expect lots of pics of my daughter. 🙂

Have a Happy New Year!!!

New Year, New Look | Ventura County Photographer

It’s almost the new year and I decided that I am going to do some revamping of Jeni LB Photography, in particular the branding and packages that will be offered.

I’m really excited about it. I always have fun reorganizing stuff so this will be great. Plus with it being the New Year, it will feel like starting afresh.

Also, one of my New Years goals is to blog more. Lots more. I may even start one of those weekly photo projects. I’ve seen some good ones in the past but never tried them (ahem, because I am the queen of quitting those types of things). But, I am determined to try my hardest to do it this year. *fingers crossed*

I have a lot of other ideas for new things to do in 2014 but I may save those to blog about later.

Comment below if you have any ideas on weekly photo projects. I would love to know what kind there are out there.

The Cavola Family | Ventura County Family Photographer

Last week I had a lovely family session at the beach. It was the late afternoon and surprisingly warm for being in the middle of December. Then again, we are in beautiful Southern California. Here are a few of my favorite shots from the beautiful Cavola Family. They were great to work with and their little ones are too adorable. 🙂
